miix2 8だがタッチパネルが効かなくなっているときがある。これを直すには短期的には強制再起動しかない。かなりイヤな感じである。結構いろんな人のところで発生しているようだった。
ところで最近BIOSが公開された。買った時に入っていたのは1.03だったが公開されたのは1.07だった。1.07のBIOSが海外で流通しているという話を聞いたのは3月であったが、いままで公開が延びた理由はよくわからない。とりあえずBIOSはLenovoの商品サイトからたどることができる http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/miix-series/miix-2-8-tablet-lenovo/downloads/DS101003 に発見した。
喜んで1.07をインストールした。これで治ればいいと思うのだが、このタッチパネルが効かなくなる問題に対しては特に変わりはないという話だった。
いろいろ調べたところ、Microsoft Communityの「Lenovo Miix 2 touchscreen and Bluetooth issues (error code 43) - Microsoft Community」にそれっぽい記述があった。
Seems the issue is with Silverlight and Update for Windows 8.1 (KB2962409). I did several tests this weekend and found that the Miix 2 8 worked fine without these 2 updates. The moment either Silverlight is installed or KB2962409 update is applied, the touchscreen begins to stop responding intermittently. Seem more severe with Silverlight where it almost does not recover even with reboot. With KB2962409, the touchscreen randomly works after a few reboots, and sometime after leave it in sleep mode for sometime.
この問題はSilverligihtとKB2962409の更新プログラムによって発生しているようだ。この週末にいろいろテストしたところこの2つをインストールしなければmiix2 8は快適に動くことがわかった。SilverlightまたはKB2962409を適用したらタッチパネルが急に反応しなくなった。SilverlightのほうがKB2962409よりも重症になる。

For the moment, I uninstalled both the above and the touchscreen seems to work just fine. If other users find this helpful, please let this forum know as well and forward to the relevant Lenovo forums too.
そうこうして、私は上記の両方をアンインストールした。タッチスクリーンは快適に動いているように見える。
とりあえず2つをアンインストールしてみたので数日使って様子見、かな。
フォーラムの他のコメントにはこんな記述もあった。
Unfortunately, this is a common problem and lenovo has not put out a fix yet. dell had the same problem with their venue 8 pro tablet (which is almost identical to the lenovo miix 2 8). dell fixed the problem by releasing a modified firmware/bios, and lenovo is refusing to accept that the problem exists. at this point i don't believe they will ever fix it, and unfortunately this means my tablet is a brick every now and then until i plug a mouse into it.
残念ながらこれは一般的な問題で、しかもLenovoはこの問題をまだ解決していない。DellはVenue 8で同じ問題(ほとんどmiix2で起こったものと同じ問題)を抱えていたが、Dellは修正したBIOSをリリースすることでこの問題を解決した。Lenovoはこの問題の存在を認めることを拒んでいる。現時点ではLenovoがこの問題を今後解決するともあまり思えないので、僕のタブレットは不幸にも頻繁に操作できなくなるのだ(そしてその度ごとにマウスを挿さないといけない)

いまんところ僕はLenovoを買ったせいでとても不幸です。
本当ならLenovo残念すぎるんですけど。

しばらく使ってみるとやっぱりタッチパネルが効かなくなる現象が発生するので、結局上記のWindows更新プログラムのアンインストールでは解決しなかったということになる。結局裏蓋を開けたりしてまた様子見である(d:id:naoya2k:20140921:p1)残念だ。
